Himachal Pradesh becomes 1st State to migrate all district websites to S3WaaS
Himachal Pradesh became the 1st State to complete migration of its 12 districts to S3WaaS – Secure, Scalable & Sugamya Website as a Servce – in early May 2018. The State achieved this feat in a record time of one month. All districts were motivated to swiftly migrate their websites by the easy to use S3WaaS platform that has been developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC).
The S3WaaS platform allows each district administration to choose from a wide variety of standard, certified themes & templates that are tested for compliance with the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW), a set of guidelines that helps all Government entities to develop and maintain user-centric, user-friendly, universally accessible websites. Using the S3WaaS platform makes it possible for each district to focus on publishing content that is useful for citizens, without having to master the latest technologies, and without having to manage the logistics of hosting & securing their website.
Hon’ble MeiTY (Minister of Electronics and Information Technology) was present in Shimla, the State capital of Himachal Pradesh for the inauguration of the State’s Software Technology Park, where he appreciated the role of the State NIC team in migrating the district websites to S3WaaS.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Jai Ram Thakur had recently launched the website of District Kullu along with an iOS based mobile app that allows issuing of Rohtang Pass Permits, on the occasion of which Hon’ble MeiTY tweeted to spread the word.
