Dissemination of details using SWaaS Platform for Department of Differently Abled Welfare, Kancheepuram District

The Government of Tamilnadu has implemented various types of welfare schemes for the Differently Abled persons in the state. The Department of Differently abled Welfare, Kancheepuram District used the Kancheepuram District website for disseminating these details to the public. The web pages were created on the SWaaS platform which uses templates that are compliant with GIGW Guidelines and differently abled friendly. The website is designed as bi-lingual and is widely used by the Blind and Visually impaired people. SWaaS Platform is using responsive web design so Blind and Visually impaired people are accessing the Kancheepuram District Website on mobile phones wherein with the use of the Talkback option in Android Mobile, they are able to listen to the website information.

The website was introduced to all the Government officials on 17/12/2018 during the Grievance Day meeting by the District Collector. The website design, rich content, presentation and the efforts by NIC, Kancheepuram towards developing this web site were appreciated by the District Collector, Kancheepuram and “Certificate of Appreciation” was presented to Shri P.Murugan, ADIO in the function.
