Ahmednagar Dated 6th May 2018:

Digital India initiative is revolutionizing the information technology of the country, but the website of the Collector’s office in Ahmednagar was lagging a little behind. However, under the guidance of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology and National Informatics Center (NIC)  Delhi, the NIC Center of the district has changed the look of District Collectorate website. More and updated information about the district and administration is now available on the website.
The central government has decided to help change the website of District Collectorate offices under the Digital India program. There are some rules for this. Accordingly, the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology and the NIC Delhi has instructed NIC Centers of every district of the country to work on the S3WaaS platform. S3WaaS stands for Secure, Scalable & Sugamya Website as a Service and empowers the district administration to focus on providing updated content for citizens without having to worry about the design, development, technology, hosting, security etc of the district website.

In NIC, Ahmednagar, District Informatics Officer Seema Bhanage, Additional District Informatics Officer Gajanan Nakaskar and Engineer Anupama Kodam started the work of migration of the District Collectorate website to S3WaaS on 15th February 2018 under the guidance of Collector Abhay Mahajan, Collector Rahul Dwivedi, Resident Deputy Collector Sandeep Nichit, Additional Collector Bhanudas Palve. This district website has been launched on 23rd April 2018.

The information on the website is now available in both English and Marathi languages. Information of district was earlier available in either Marathi or English languages in NIC. Therefore, Google tools were used for translation of information. The process of migrating content to S3WaaS involved checks based on pre-defined rules & checklists, as shared by NIC HQ, Delhi. The compliance with those rules was evaluated rigorously by NIC Delhi team. Due to the use of the S3WaaS platform for the first time in the state, NIC officials also had the opportunity to acquire a lot of information for publishing on the website for the benefit of the citizens.
